Frequently Asked Questions

Our goal is to make a matching investment in changing students’ lives while elevating global education on your campus. Institutional funding can draw from existing budget allocations or new advancement initiatives and should support student participation in your proposed program(s). Staff investment or investment in other kinds of overhead would be considered separate from this match. Feel free to note this in the proposal as a potential dependency.

Strong preference will be given to secure funding commitment over four years; however, we will consider proposals that have a significant (more than 50%) portion of funding secured and a strong commitment or evidence of future funding initiatives in place to meet the four-year goal.

Yes, programs will take place in one of CIEE’s 40+ cities and students will need to be able to earn credit towards their degree as part of the initiative. However, new partner institutions are encouraged to apply as well as institutions proposing faculty-led, custom, or modified CIEE program solutions as part of their pledge.

Great! Get creative, we are happy to consider proposals that utilize all our program suites and services – from catalogue programs (semester, summer, January, internship, traditional, Open Campus) to short- and long-term custom and modified programs, including faculty-led programs and custom internship programs.

Our team is happy to help advise on the kinds of programs and services we can support as part of your initiative, as well as help you estimate costs. Reach out to your Manager of Institutional Relations for assistance, or email IR@ciee.org.
