Need-Based Scholarships
CIEE offers three kinds of needs-based grants, based on a student’s financial need, including:
- Gilman Go Global Grant: Up to $2,500 off semester programs
- GAIN Travel Grant: Up to $1,500 off travel costs to/from the study abroad or global internship program
- Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Grant: Up to $2,000 off program fees
Merit Scholarships
Merit scholarships are based on academic achievement and include:
- Ping Scholarship for Academic Excellence: Up to $2,500 off program fees
- McDermott Health Sciences, Nursing and Public Health: Up to $2,500 off program fees
- Wollitzer Merit Scholarship in Area or Comparative Studies: Up to $2,500 off program fees

Other Funding
Other financial awards are based on program or alum status, including:
- Go Abroad Again Grant: Up to $1,500 off non-consecutive in-person terms
- Summer Session Discount: 20% discount on additional summer sessions
- Refer-A-Friend Rewards: $200 cash reward for every friend you refer who travels with CIEE
To qualify for scholarships and/or grants, you’ll need to complete the Scholarships & Grants portion of your CIEE application. On average, it only takes students 15 minutes to complete!
