Your Destination

The Czech Republic is a modern-day success story, having established itself as the most politically stable and economically prosperous of the post-Communist countries of Europe. CIEE Prague, located in the historic Vyšehrad neighborhood of Prague, is housed in a former seat of the Catholic Church’s provost and is close to many of the city’s historical sites and cultural activities.

CIEE Prague is located in a beautiful park-like setting atop one of Prague’s highest hills about 15 minutes from the Old Town area.

CIEE wants all our students to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed while studying abroad. Local CIEE staff have provided details about conditions and cultural attitudes that students with specific identities might encounter in Prague.

Excursions & Activities

  • Take excursions to see sites of historical and cultural importance, like Prague Castle or Old Town Square.
  • Take a trip outside of Prague and discover the gems of the Czech countryside. The town of Kutná Hora boasts a 14th century Gothic cathedral, medieval silver mines, narrowed cobbled streets, and a rather spooky church adorned with bones. You don’t want to miss it!
  • Build transferable skills through a series of workshops and learn about the interconnected world during site visits to local startups, accelerators, and art venues.
  • Make your summer internship truly geared to your interests and skills through individual pre-placement meetings, a personalized matching process, and coaching for each student.
  • Participate in weekly CIEE-facilitated activities. Get to know other US college students and interact with the local community while taking paddle boats on the Vltava River, creating your own souvenir, or cooking Czech meals.
