Housing & Meals
Housing
Singapore is a small city, and its major attractions are easily reached via public transit, such as the subway. Commuting around the island, even between its furthest points, takes less than two hours. Students live in a 3-star hotel room in a location accessible to public transportation. Each hotel room consists of a private bathroom with shower facilities and two single beds. The hotel also has a 24-hour concierge to assist students.
Standard Housing: Includes a twin room in a shared apartment inside the hotel, located within 45 minutes by subway or bus to CIEE Singapore or Singapore Management University. The hotel conveniently features a swimming pool, fitness room, a common area for studying, and complimentary Wi-Fi access. While the use of kitchen facilities is not available, students are able to purchase meals near the hotel for as low as USD $6 per meal.
Meals
Students will have access to inexpensive meal options for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a cost of no more than $6 USD in food courts, coffee shops, and our UNESCO-inscribed hawker centers. Like Singapore’s diverse and multi-racial culture, students will be able to find and explore delicious cuisines from the different ethnic groups or nationalities in the hawker centers.
Transportation
Commute time from housing location to internship will vary depending on location of the internship provider.
Academics
CIEE Singapore: Conveniently located in the southwestern part of the city, CIEE Singapore boasts three classrooms, and a meeting room used for studying, academic advising, and student life support. Students will find several restaurants, a supermarket, and a mall near CIEE Singapore.
