Daily Life

HOUSING
Residence Hall: Students reside in the on-campus residence hall in singles, doubles, triples, or quads. Lounges in the residence hall allow students to mix and mingle over meals, cultural activities, study groups, and special events. Larger common areas are on the ground floor and inner courtyards offer comfortable spaces to work and relax. Shared Apartment Students may also reside in local shared apartments. Final housing assignments are solely at the discretion of CIEE.

Meals: Not included and are the responsibility of the student. Residence Halls are equipped with full kitchens, basic cooking utensils and cleaning supplies.

CIEE STUDY CENTER - BERLIN
The center is located in the heart of the Kreuzberg district and offers students easy access to a large public market hall, restaurants and cafés, and a variety of shops.

Getting Around
Students commute to their internships and most program activities via local public transportation. Introduction to the system is provided during orientation and students are responsible for securing their own public transportation pass. Program housing is convenient to public transportation and all internship locations are accessible.

The program detailsAs a global intern in Berlin, you’ll work in a non-paying position within a wide range of opportunities across a diverse set of innovative industries. Co-curricular excursions and cultural activities in and around Berlin complement your coursework and immerse you in the history and culture of the city.
This 8-week program includes a full-time internship and an integrated academic seminar.

OVERALL GPA
Students need to have a GPA of at least 2.5. Rising sophomore standing and above required at time of participation. *Additional visa restrictions may apply and CIEE will advise students as part of the early application process.

Internship: 6 U.S. semester/9 quarter credits; 30 integrated academic seminar hours, 200-240 internship placement hours

Requirements
Students participate in an academic seminar taught in an online learning environment alongside the eight-week, full-time internship and weekly co-curricular workshops, site visits, and lectures. Participation in the integrated academic seminar and co-curriculars is mandatory for all participants.

Program FeesCIEE offers the most student support of any provider in its program fee, including an airport greeting, full-time leadership and support, orientation, cultural activities, local excursions, pre-departure advising, and CIEE iNext travel insurance with benefits. Participation Confirmation = $300 * Educational Costs = $4,083 Housing = $1,800 ** Insurance = $167 Total Fees = $6,350Estimated CostsStudents are responsible and manage costs related to travel, meals, books, and personal expenses. Below are estimates for consideration.
