Bring your interest in Irish culture and society to Dublin this January to earn credits and immerse yourself in the vibrant, culture-filled capital. During January in Dublin, students take the required Irish Culture, Society, and Identity course at CIEE Dublin, which is complemented with immersive co-curricular activities designed to increase intercultural understanding.

  • HOUSING

    Shared apartments: Students share apartments in an on-campus student residence at DCU. Students share a twin room and small bathroom, and have a shared living, kitchen, and dining area. There are four students to each shared area.

  • MEALS

    Meals are not included in the program fee and are the responsibility of the student. There are dining facilities and a small grocery store on campus.

Academics

January in Dublin offers challenging coursework and culturally immersive activities so students can gain an in-depth understanding of Irish culture, society, and identity. The program focuses on the history and culture of modern Ireland and includes lectures by educators associated with several Irish institutions of higher education.

CIEE Dublin is located on the Glasnevin, St Patrick’s, and All Hallow’s campuses of Dublin City University, located approximately 20 minutes by bus from the city center.

Academic Culture

The course includes daily lectures, readings, films, and frequent outings in the city, as well as a field trip linked to the coursework. CIEE courses are taught by the CIEE academic staff.

In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
