All options are in neighborhoods with access to public transportation, shops, cafés, and essential services.
Standard Housing

Homestays: In homestays, students live with a Brazilian host family and experience the local language, culture, and daily life. Each student has a single room, and the home’s bathroom and common areas are shared with the host family. Homestay placements are located up to 60 minutes from the CIEE Center. Breakfast and dinner are included; meals may be prepared by the host family or, in some cases, by the student, depending on the household routine.
Residence Halls: Individual rooms with a private bathroom, fully furnished and equipped with a mini fridge, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Students share laundry facilities, study areas, and leisure spaces within the building. All utilities are included, and 24/7 security with on-site support ensures a safe and comfortable environment. Residences are located in the Paulista and Jardins areas, both averaging about a 25-minute walk from the CIEE office.

- Residence Halls: Meals are not included in any of the housing categories.
Transportation
Commute times in São Paulo can vary considerably. Although distances may appear short in kilometers or miles, heavy traffic and the scale of the city mean that travel by public transportation can take significantly longer than expected.
Students choosing a homestay should be aware that placements may be up to 60 minutes from the CIEE Center, and commuting time can vary depending on the time of day, traffic conditions, and transit connections. Residence halls in Paulista and Jardins are within walking distance—about 25 minutes on average, to CIEE Center—offering a more predictable daily route.
