Your Destination
Founded in 1536, Buenos Aires is a surprisingly navigable metropolis that reveals the influence of Europe and the Middle East through its architecture and its steady influx of European immigrants. Affectionately nicknamed "the Paris of South America," Buenos Aires is a vibrant port city and the world's leading Spanish language publishing center. With a population of 13 million, Argentina's capital city offers the cultural intrigue found only in cities of this size and prestige.
CIEE wants all our students to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed while studying abroad. Local CIEE staff have provided details about conditions and cultural attitudes that students with specific identities might encounter in Buenos Aires.

The class environment typically features a combination of traditional lecture and discussions with co-curricular excursions and activities. Heavy emphasis is placed on student participation. The U.S. grading scale of A-F is used. Students are graded based on attendance, class participation, homework, project work, presentations, and midterm and final examinations.
