Where to get your hair cut in Paris?
By: Lillian Clark
When people think about studying abroad, “where do I get my haircut” isn’t the first question that pops into their head. For me, I didn’t even begin to start thinking about this until 2 months in when I realized I hadn’t had a haircut since before summer. I began researching places throughout Paris but was disappointed to find that most places were charging over €70 for a simple cut. I almost gave up on the idea when I was walking through my neighborhood and saw the sign “Capilor Coiffure”. Coiffure roughly translates to “hairdresser”.
I decided to go inside and just check out the prices and see their availability. I was greeted by 1 lady who ran the shop by herself. I spoke to her in broken French, but she quickly responded in English letting me know that she is fluent and has many English-speaking customers. I was relieved that I would be able to describe what I wanted in my native language. Finally, she told me the price for her cuts are €20 cash. This is the cheapest price I had heard of in Paris!
My cut turned out amazing. She did exactly what I asked for and even styled it at the end to teach me how to do it every day! I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re in Paris, be sure to check it out here: 13 Rue Maublanc 75015 Paris, France
