Stop Three: Ikseon-dong
In the nook of a busy modern city, there is a small neighborhood in Seoul that is known as a Hanok village. Filled to the brim with beautiful cafes, restaurants, and craft shops, this Hanok villiage is the perfect fushion of Korean traditional elements with a touch of modern experienced. Even though I have yet to experience all of Ikseon-dong, here are some of my favorite restaurants in the area!
Ikseon Jabbang 익선잡방
As the first place in Ikseon-dong I visited, their caprese salad completely stole my heart. This restaurant is not only a great space to grab a meal, but it is also a great place for a couples date. Even though their menu is mostly pastas, they do not lose to the other great three course restaurants in Korea.

Chiang Mai Bangkok 치앙마이방콕
Although unexpected, Chiang Mai Bangkok hold some of the most authentic Thai dishes I could find. Even though their menu is pretty cliche on all Thai restaurants, this one hold the most authentic and they definitely do not skimp on the seafood, especially for the price. It is the beautiful greenery and water fountain that draws you in, but it is for the food that you will stay.

Nak-Won 낙원역
Even though this is a cafe, the beautiful folliage and gardening, as well as the more tradition menu really brings the traditional tea time to a modern level. With unique flavors such as peanut cream, chestnut, and pecan, this cafe immerses you into the environment and relaxes you with a beautiful cake and creamy coffee. This cafe is definitely a great place to spend an afternoon.

Madang Flower Cafe 마당플라워카페
If a traditional hanok cafe is not fitting the mood, consider a flower cafe! Filled with beautiful and colorful flowers, this cafe has a very peaceful atmosphere and great lighting. Known for their beautiful flower teas and waffles, this is definitely a change in environment, but just as worth the visit.
