Semester in Shanghai: Week 12 + 13

In week 12 I finally ventured off to the nation’s capital, Beijing! This was my favorite independent weekend trip during my time abroad because of how many iconic sights I was able to see. These sights included several temples, Tiananmen Square, and of course the Great Wall of China! The portion of the great wall we visited, Mutianyu, was a further trip from Beijing but far less crowed then the more popular areas of the wall. We took a cable car to the top and then spend a few hours walking the wall and taking in the sights. Then following weekend, in week 13, we visited Hangzhou, a city approximately 45 minutes from Shanghai by train.
