GREEN DAY
Every semester we like to dedicate a day to do community service avtivities with our students. This semester that day has been to reflect on the importance of reducing the use of plastic in our lives, one of the main concerns in the 21st century for the planet. First, we could attend a talk at the Universidad de Alicante, where an expert in the Chemical Engineering department talked about the project they are developing. This project consists of producing altenatives to plastic products based on the use of biopolymers (potato, corn, etc.). We could even see the labs where researchers developed their work!
After the academic part, we also had some fun! On three different workshops, students showed their amazing artistic skills to create different objects made out of plastic. Remember the three R's: reduce, reuse and recycle - all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away.
Great job to help us live in a better planet :-)
