Conquering Tafelburg
August 3,2019 I have done the unimaginable. I CLIMBED TABLE MOUNTAIN! Not only did I climb it but I conquered it with my peers. When it’s comes to Table mountain there are so many reasons why this is my most memorable moment. First, never in a million years did I think I was going to hype a mountain! It was quite the task but such an amazing feeling. Secondly, while being on this trip it was my first time seeing a mountain. It wasn’t until I got here that I realized that I’ve never seen a mountain before. It was not only beautiful from the city either. Being the action, although it was very foggy was something sensational. Thirdly, I found out more about myself. If it wasn’t for this great moment I would have never discovered that I actually like hiking and wouldn’t mind making it a hobby. The exercise, the scenery, the fresh air could never be matched to anything I have experienced. Fourthly, I tried real natural spring water. I was super scared and nervous because it felt unsanitary but by far the best water I have ever tasted. Lastly, the beautiful souls I shared this moment with. We encouraged and was very patient with one another. We were able to talk and find out more about each other. People I only say hello to have turned into my genuine friend. We fed off of each other’s energy and we took Table Mountain down with three hours up and one and half hours down. I will forever be eternally grateful for this moment and these people.
