In the Plazas Arms

Since its erection in 1928, the Plaza De España has acted as an epicenter of relational mingling. It’s an introduction at the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 inviting former colonies from South America and the US to meld relations. Even in its architecture, the towers seem to be in its arms hugging each colony's mosaic between its two main towers.
Hailing just a walking distance from La Residencia the towers hail in the distance embracing me in their tight grasp. Imploring me to explore the Palaza using tools familiar—my pen and my lens. Furthermore exploring the intimacy of the edifice.
The magnificent square is known for its grandeur, elegance, and iconic Renaissance Revival architecture. The main focus captures how the plaza is adorned with beautiful bridges, ceramic tile work, and ornate fountains. I capture the beauty through myself and the intimate moments of people strolling along the square, reflecting the daily life and interactions of locals and tourists alike.
It is no wonder that the Plaza De España acts as a symbol of peace and togetherness. This ideology is put forth through every romantic boat ride shared, handheld, and kiss experienced in its midst.
