Overview

Your Business + Culture program in Tallinn combines a broad selection of business courses and immerses you in Europe’s digital innovation hub, where startups thrive alongside historic architecture and rich culture. You’ll enroll in a combination of CIEE courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Engage in co-curricular and extracurricular activities like exploring the cobblestone streets of Tallinn’s Old Town, visiting the E-Estonia Showroom, and tasting local pastries like kringel. Tallinn offers a unique chance to experience how digital innovation and centuries-old culture coexist in one dynamic capital.

CIEE Tallinn: Study in Tallinn’s city center at Tallinn University, CIEE’s partner institution, just a 10-minute tram ride from the historic Old Town and within walking distance of Kadriorg Park, Estonia’s largest urban park, as well as the harbor and key cultural landmarks. In the same building as CIEE Tallinn, you will find a modern learning environment with a library, study areas, and student lounges.

Tallinn University (TLU): Tallinn University is a public university located in Tallinn and is the third-largest university in Estonia. The university has six institutes and Haapsalu College. Its main focus is on the humanities. Tallinn University is a compact campus with state-of-the-art laboratories, a modern library, a business center, an active student house, a sports hall, several cafes, and numerous student organizations. There is always a way to put what you study into practice.

Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech): Founded in 1918, TalTech is Estonia’s only technological university and one of Northern Europe’s rising innovation hubs. Consistently ranked among the world’s top universities for engineering and technology, TalTech combines science, entrepreneurship, and creativity in a hands-on learning environment. Its programs are closely connected to the global job market and Estonia’s thriving startup ecosystem, giving students the skills to turn ideas into impact.

Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

For students who want to take Russian language courses, previous coursework or placement testing appropriate to the level of course selected is required and provided on site.

To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
