Your Arts + Sciences program in Bangkok gives you a full semester to settle into daily life in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic and culturally rich cities, open to students from every academic path. You will enroll in a combination of host institution courses and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Beyond the classroom, co‑curricular and extracurricular experiences bring the city to life, like wandering through the vibrant stalls of Chatuchak Weekend Market, visiting contemporary galleries and creative spaces in neighborhoods like Thonglor and Ari, or even escaping the city for a weekend trip to nearby Ayutthaya or lush national parks. Bangkok offers the perfect balance of academic depth and cultural discovery for a transformative semester abroad.

  • Visit the iconic Damnoen Saduak Floating Market to experience early morning boat‑to‑boat trading, colorful local produce, and classic Thai street food  
  • Take a day trip to Ayutthaya, the former Siamese capital, to explore its UNESCO‑listed temple ruins, towering stupas, and serene Buddha statues  
  • Explore Bangkok’s historic Chinatown (Yaowarat) after dark, visiting ancient temples and sampling renowned street food while discovering its Thai‑Chinese heritage

MUIC’s School of Management holds AACSB accreditation, placing it among a select group of business schools worldwide and ensuring that business courses provide globally recognized instruction with strong industry relevance.

Today, MUIC serves as the international arm of Mahidol University, delivering a fully English-taught, interdisciplinary liberal arts and sciences curriculum. CIEE students would be enrolled at MUIC, where they can choose from a wide range of subjects across business, science, information technology, social sciences, media and communication, tourism, and hospitality management. Arizona State University (ASU): Brought to you by CIEE in partnership with ASU, enhance your international coursework with online classes that align with your degree requirements. ASU offers thousands of online courses in asynchronous 7.5-week sessions that fit within the CIEE academic calendar.

To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.

Program Fees

CIEE offers the most student support of any provider in its program fee, including an airport greeting, full-time leadership and support, orientation, cultural activities, local excursions, pre-departure advising, and CIEE iNext travel protection with benefits.

Financial Aid

CIEE offers the most grants and scholarships of any study abroad organization, including $8 million/year in travel grants, merit-based scholarships, institutional grants, and Gilman Go Global Grants.
