Your Destination
You’ll have no problem feeling right at home among Amsterdam’s 830,000 inhabitants. Though the Dutch capital is home to the stock exchange, central bank, and numerous Dutch and international companies, it’s got an artsy, vibrant side too — think museums housing original works by Van Gogh and Rembrandt, art galleries, music clubs, and theaters. Not to mention, though it boasts 180 different nationalities (making one of the most diverse populations in the world), English is the unofficial second language here, so it’s easy to communicate with the locals.
The Culture

EXCURSIONS & ACTIVITIES

During the orientation, venture out into the countryside to visit an old medieval castle, a small authentic fisherman’s town, or small Dutch city with great history.
-
Take a trip to Rotterdam, The Hague, or Utrecht – each significant in its own right – and compare your observations to what you know of Amsterdam.
-
Take a bike tour through Amsterdam’s countryside.
-
Relax during an outside movie night at a popular Amsterdam city beach.
-
Go to a concert, play, flea market, or a special exhibition in one of Amsterdam’s museums.
