As a global intern, you'll have the opportunity to gain practical, real-world work experience in the city's various startups, businesses, and industries. During your internship, you can expect to gain soft skills in communication, networking, time management, conflict resolution, creative thinking, and teamwork. Similarly, you'll immerse yourself in the local business culture, getting an insider's look at how the organization you're working for operates. Local internships are as diverse as Paris itself, offering opportunities for students in a wide range of professional fields located in the city's different arrondissements and suburbs. All internships are within a one-hour commute from CIEE Paris and student housing.

Your Destination
Paris hosts unforgettable sights, from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe to the Sacre Coeur Basilica. France’s capital and largest city, Paris offers peaceful parks, lively nightlife, and innumerable cobblestoned neighborhoods to wander around.
Iconic stone Haussmann buildings line bustling boulevards and contrast with the impressive modern glass and steel structures in La Défense, Paris’ financial district. Open-air markets with fresh food and flowers are scattered around residential areas, and a bakery is never more than a short walk away.
CIEE wants all our students to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed while studying abroad. Local CIEE staff have provided details about conditions and cultural attitudes that students with specific identities might encounter in Paris.

EXCURSIONS & ACTIVITIES
Past cultural activities allowed students to:
- Learn about cheesemaking from a local cheesemonger and taste a variety of their products
- Test their skills as a nose at the Fragonard Perfume Museum and learn about the history of perfume making in southern France
- Take a stroll in the Montparnasse neighborhood, learning about the area’s influence on art and literature, and stop for a crêpe at the end of the visit
Overnight Excursions may help you:
- Discover the champagne industry in Reims and visit the cathedral where French kings were coronated
- Visit the region of Normandy to learn about World War II history and local agricultural industries, tasting regional delicacies along the way

Internships
Past internship experiences include:
Communication with a digital marketing agency, creating blog posts and researching current market trends.
Project management for a documentary film production company researching sites for shoots, coordinating filming schedules, script revision, and reviewing subtitles.
Coordination for an expat lobbying group, organizing voter registration events, researching policy initiatives, and building their international network.

All housing is within a one-hour commute to CIEE.
Shared studios: Students typically live in shared housing with other CIEE students and local and international students with shared common spaces. Accommodation is less than an hour’s commute to CIEE Paris. -

As a global intern in Paris, you’ll work in a non-paying position within a wide range of opportunities across a diverse set of innovative industries and take an integrated academic course. Extracurricular activities in and around Paris complement your coursework and immerse you in the history and culture of the city.
This eight-week program includes a full-time internship and an integrated academic course.

Program Requirements
Students participate in an academic course taught in an online learning environment alongside the eight-week, full-time internship. Participation in the integrated academic course and internship are mandatory for all participants.

Total credit: 6 U.S. semester/9 quarter credits

Internship: 6 U.S. semester/9 quarter credits; 15 integrated academic course hours, 225-300 internship placement hours

Academic Culture
Students are expected to dress and behave professionally throughout their internship project and are subject to the agreed-upon internship protocols arranged by CIEE and the host organizations. The academic course is designed to prepare students for leadership in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse workforce.
Class Format
Students participate in an eight-week CIEE full-time internship and academic course taught in an online learning environment. Class and/or work hours may be scheduled Monday-Friday, and attendance is strictly enforced for all. To avoid falling behind, students should not plan personal travel from the city when classes are in session.
Grading
Students will be assessed via assignments and activities related to the academic course, including but not limited to online discussion forums, reflective papers, individual or group presentations, analysis of readings, an internship work plan, and feedback from internship supervisor. Internship supervisors and students each provide written evaluations of progress towards goals.

Program FeesCIEE offers the most student support of any provider in its program fee, including an airport greeting, full-time leadership and support, orientation, cultural activities, local excursions, pre-departure advising, and CIEE iNext travel insurance with benefits. Participation Confirmation = $300 * Educational Costs = $3,953 Housing = $2,500 Insurance = $197 Total Fees = $6,950Financial AidCIEE offers the most grants and scholarships of any study abroad organization, including $8 million/year in travel grants, merit-based scholarships, institutional and MSI grants, and Gilman Go Global Grants. This breakdown has been prepared from the program budget for the purpose of calculating eligibility for financial aid. During the course of program operations, actual figures may vary. It should not, therefore, be used as a basis for calculation of refunds. CIEE reserves the right to adjust fees at any time. To help you budget, keep in mind that students are responsible for the cost of international airfare, local transportation, books and supplies, visas, and personal expenses. In addition, your college or university may charge additional fees for study abroad, or may require you to receive a transcript via CIEE's School of Record, which carries an additional fee of $500.
