Examine the philosophical foundations and basic principles of ethics as they apply to the business and environment in Rio de Janeiro. Complete real-world case studies to gain insight into how business and organizations manage challenging ethical and moral dilemmas, and how business leaders foster ethnical awareness. Classes are taught at the CIEE Global Institute – Rio de Janeiro, in English and complemented with co-curricular activities designed to increase intercultural understanding.

Rio de Janeiro is all about street life; the social and cultural life of the city is all out in the open. Rio is the third largest metropolitan area in South America and the most visited city in the southern hemisphere, known for its stunning natural beauty, Carnival celebrations, musical culture, and renowned beaches. Rio’s iconic landmarks include the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado Mountain, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and Maracanã stadium, one of the world's largest football stadiums.

What you need to knowThe program details
During the January in Rio de Janeiro program, all students take the required course: Business Ethics and Leadership. In-class work is augmented with co-curricular visits to the city’s rich variety of cultural institutions and organizations relevant to the course offering.
CIEE Global Institute – Rio de Janeiro is located within Villa Aymoré, an early 20th century residential villa renovated into a state-of-the-art urban office space. The Global Institute features classrooms, office space for staff, and workspace for students. Villa Aymoré hosts many events and exhibitions throughout the year, giving students a chance to interact with young Brazilian professionals and entrepreneurs.

All students take the required course, Business Ethics and Leadership.

CIEE offers the most student support of any provider in its program fee, including an airport greeting, full-time leadership and support, orientation, cultural activities, local excursions, pre-departure advising, and CIEE iNext travel insurance with benefits.

CIEE offers the most grants and scholarships of any study abroad organization, including $8 million/year in travel grants, merit-based scholarships, institutional and MSI grants, and Gilman Go Global Grants.
This breakdown has been prepared from the program budget for the purpose of calculating eligibility for financial aid. During the course of program operations, actual figures may vary. It should not, therefore, be used as a basis for calculation of refunds. CIEE reserves the right to adjust fees at any time.
Students required to study on CIEE programs through a School of Record will be charged a $500 administrative fee in addition to the Program Fees listed.
