I’ve been in Seoul for nearly 3-4 months. Now that it’s nearing the end of my time abroad I want to recount my experiences and give tips and advice for anyone curious about studying abroad in Seoul.

When I first came here I was super nervous, and scared to say the least. However, things got better as I opened up to new people and experiences. I want to say that time abroad goes faster than you think, everything feels like a fever dream or it did to me at least.

I pushed myself to do things I was scared or uncomfortable with doing. I signed up for dance classes and had the best time at them. I found my passion for dancing, and many other of my creative sides, come alive again. I wasn’t scared to indulge in things that make me feel alive again. I also explored lots of Seoul, alone or with friends. I joined a club at Yonsei and I went on an overnight trip with friends to Busan and Tokyo. I would say take advantage of the area you’re in, already being in Asia, plan trips to countries you’ve always wanted to go to ahead of time to save money.

Recounting my time abroad, I just want to say to not be afraid to do anything even if it’s alone. Talk to people who come from different backgrounds and have different personalities from you because you truly can make lifelong friends abroad. Good luck abroad if you choose to go!
