Spending Christmas with French Friends
By: Maryam Vanbaelinghem
I made some really good French friends during my time here and decided to stay an extra three weeks after the program’s end to spend some time with them. We headed down to a small French village to spend time together during Christmas. I met their families and really enjoyed a lot of the French Christmas traditions. In all honesty, it was the most fun I have had during my time abroad.
We had huge family gatherings where we ate raclettes and debated loudly. I laughed and danced, got lots of presents, and really came to love my friends. Below is a picture of all the presents we had under a cute little Christmas tree. Christmas Eve might have been one of the best days of my life.
