Okay, so last weekend was pretty awesome. I took a quick trip up to the Sunshine Coast with some friends, just for a couple of days of beaches, wildlife, and good food. Even though it was short, it was packed with fun!

We flew into the Sunshine Coast around 8 PM on Friday, April 4th, and went straight to our Airbnb to drop off our bags. We didn't waste any time getting settled in because we were soon at a friend's place for a laid-back BBQ. Burgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, chips, and cookies – all my favorites! It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

Saturday morning, April 5th, we were up super early to catch the sunrise at Habitat Noosa, and honestly, it was breathtaking. There were kangaroos just chilling by the lake, many of them still snoozing in the grass. They were so calm and didn't seem bothered by us at all, which made for some amazing photos. Afterward, we grabbed a delicious breakfast wrap from the café there – definitely hit the spot.

Later that morning, we drove about an hour and a half down the coast to Australia Zoo. Seriously, the hype is real – it's an amazing zoo! The enclosures are huge, and you can tell the animals are really well looked after. My highlight was definitely watching Robert Irwin at his croc show; it was incredible! We also got to see a wombat up close, pet a koala (for free!), and visit Forest the Giraffe, who is the world’s tallest giraffe, standing at 5.7 meters!

That evening, we cleaned up and headed to Noosa Heads Main Beach for a sunset photoshoot and dinner. I had the prawn scampi from Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club, and wow, it was a 10/10! After that, I had to finish it off with some Yo-Chi (my absolute favorite frozen yogurt). I was pretty tired after such a full day, so I had a hot shower and was asleep by 9 PM.

Sunday, April 6th, was another early start. We woke up at 5:30 AM to catch the sunrise from picnic blankets on the sand. We were back at Noosa Heads Main Beach, which was just a short walk from our accommodation. After soaking in the beautiful sunrise, we wandered over to Boardwalk Bistro on Hastings Street for coffee and avocado toast – my kind of breakfast! Then it was time to head back home, feeling refreshed and happy after such a great weekend getaway.
