Berlin Art Week
We moved to Berlin for our second block just in time to catch Berlin Art week from September 26th - 30th! The German capital celebrates contemporary art by inviting the public to large-scale art fairs, exhibition openings, award ceremonies, and art films. My roommate and I went to Art Berlin: Fair for Modern and Contemporary Art, which showcased 120 galleries from 21 countries in two hangars of the historical Tempelhof Aiport. This was the first art fair that my roommate and I had experienced on this scale. The decommissioned airport was transformed into a sea of self-expression communicated through an array of mediums, colors, and forms. It was the perfect way to be welcomed to Berlin!
