The Beauty Mom And Pop Shops
Comfort Food:
Some of the best food you can have are at mom-in-pop restaurants. The food will always be comforting and delicious. While in Seoul, I have found that most mom-and-pop shops will usually be one street over, from the main strip. Or the area directly outside a subway exit. The owners are always very kind and the portion sizes are usually larger than other restaurants which is always a bonus. My most recent find was a dumpling restaurant in Sinchon. It was off the main street of restaurants near the Sinchon Station. I had Xiao Long Bao and a beef noodle dish that I saw other customers order that looked good. The noodle dish was filled to the brim! Just looking at it made me excited. Both the dumplings and the noodles were amazing and reminded me of a restaurant that I would go to near my school. I definitely recommend going to it. It was less than a 10-minute walk from the main gate.
