The Viking Aros exhibition shows a glimpse of the Viking town – based on the actual excavations at the exact location of the exhibition. The Viking Museum in Aarhus is a small “on site” basement museum under the bank Nordea on Store Torv in the center of Aarhus. The museum is visited by following the stairs, which takes visitors by three meters down where you can see the layers of waste from hundreds of years of urban life and construction. The years on the steps reflect the journey down through the soil layers, back in time to the Viking era.
