2026 Douglass-O'Connell Global Interns
2026 Douglass-O'Connell Global Interns
During their eight weeks in Ireland, the 2026 Douglass-O’Connell Global Interns will intern with Ireland-based companies, attend lectures on Irish history and culture, and participate in extracurricular and networking activities in Dublin, Cork, and Belfast. Each student receives an internship placement, academic lectures, housing, airfare, and a living stipend.
Fellows choose from dozens of internship opportunities – including roles in media, technology, transportation, and human rights advocacy – that align with their skills and career goals. The interns will not only grow professionally but also contribute to the important work of their host organizations while working alongside Irish colleagues.
The following 14 talented students were selected from more than 500 highly competitive applicants based on their demonstrated interest in gaining practical work experience in Ireland; their desire to emulate the business acumen and commitment to social justice exemplified by Frederick Douglass and Daniel O’Connell; their commitment to equality, entrepreneurship, and advocacy; and their desire to build a better, more inclusive world:
