The Destination
Welcome to Shanghai, a city where robots deliver groceries and skyscrapers touch the clouds.
Shanghai is home to more than 25 million people—nearly three times the size of London and New York City—and sits at the heart of China’s multibillion-dollar investment in artificial intelligence. Thousands of AI companies, smart communities, and cutting-edge research in robotics, healthcare, and autonomous driving shape everyday life here. Yet alongside futuristic technology, you’ll find bustling street markets, historic neighborhoods, and centuries-old traditions that make Shanghai one of China’s most dynamic and fascinating cities.
Take in breathtaking views from the Bund, where grand 1920s-era European-style buildings face the twisting glass towers of Pudong across the Huangpu River. Explore lively neighborhoods filled with boutiques, bookstores, and bubble tea cafés, slurp juicy soup dumplings called xiaolongbao, and snack on scallion pancakes, sesame pastries, and candied fruit skewers. In Shanghai, you’ll discover that the future is built not just with technology, but with creativity, curiosity, and bold ideas.

Top Rated Activities
Overnight Excursion to Wuxi 无锡
Leave the bustling energy of Shanghai for an overnight excursion to Wuxi, a historic city along the shores of Taihu Lake, one of China’s largest freshwater lakes. Known for its calm, shallow waters and misty shoreline, the lake is framed by low hills, willow trees, and stone paths, creating a serene, natural setting.
Explore traditional streets and architecture in Huishan Old Town, then see the towering Lingshan Grand Buddha, one of the largest Buddha statues in China. Along the way, try local specialties like sweet Wuxi-style spare ribs, steamed buns, and wontons. Learn and reinforce vocabulary related to nature, architecture, food, and art. This overnight experience offers a vivid contrast in scale, landscape, and daily life.
Martial Arts Training
Step into the world of Chinese martial arts as you train with Kung Fu masters in a hands-on workshop that blends tradition, discipline, and fun! After assessing your fitness level and abilities, your instructors will introduce you to iconic styles like Tai Chi and Shaolin Kung Fu, teaching you basic kicks, punches, defensive stances, and flowing movement sequences. As you practice alongside fellow Global Navigators, you’ll discover how focus, balance, and perseverance play into these age-old self-defense practices.
The excitement builds as teams prepare to showcase what they’ve learned in a friendly competition judged by martial arts experts. Will your team earn the title of Chinese Martial Arts Masters? This interactive experience offers an opportunity to explore one of China’s most celebrated traditions.
