Hola!

This week the Global Navigator's focused on learning about Spanish cinema, both in and outside of the classroom. During class, students spent time learning about the history of Spanish film, popular genres of Spanish film, as well as Spanish directors. To compliment this learning opportunity, students spoke with locals around the city to ask them about their favorite movies, directors, actors and actresses.

In the evening, the students had the opportunity to go to a local movie theater to watch a Spanish comedy titled, "El mejor verano de mi vida" (The Best Summer of My Life.) The students purchased their popcorn and drinks, and filled the movie theater. Everyone had an excellent time experiencing a great Spanish comedy, while simulateneously practicing their Spanish listening and comprehension skills.

Students created a critique of "El mejor verano de mi vida." They included a synopsis, photos, and their opinion of the movie. Finally, they rated the movie out of 5 starts. On average, the movie was award 4 stars.
