Overview
Turn your love of cooking into your own menu in one of Spain’s most vibrant food capitals.

Spend an unforgettable summer in Barcelona, immersed in the world of Catalan and Spanish cuisine. Learn how to cook regional dishes and play with the colorful flavors of a place whose culinary roots trace back to the Roman Empire and family-run colmados (specialty grocery store), pastelerías (pastry shops), and paradas (market stalls) carry secret recipes passed down through generations.

Your days will be a mix of cooking classes, culinary challenges, and exploring the markets and neighborhoods that make Barcelona a global foodie destination. Shop for fresh ingredients at Santa Caterina Market and La Boqueria, meet local chefs, and master dishes like pan con tomate, paella, and tortilla española.

Outside the kitchen, you’ll experience all that makes Barcelona unforgettable. Dance in flamenco workshops, join scavenger hunts in Gaudí’s Park Güell, tour the city’s colorful plazas and beaches, and explore beyond Barcelona with group trips to Tarragona and Mount Tibidabo. Along the way, you’ll find delicious recipes, lasting memories, and lifelong friends.

The Destination

Welcome to Barcelona, where Mediterranean sunshine, bold architecture, and unforgettable flavors create the perfect summer adventure.

From ancient cathedrals to Gaudí’s colorful creations, Barcelona is a city built to be explored. Stroll the colorful streets of El Born and the Gothic Quarter, where medieval alleyways open into lively plazas filled with music, cafes, and street art. Marvel at Gaudí’s towering Sagrada Família and the whimsical curves of Casa Batlló, blending creativity with history at every turn.

The food scene is mouth-watering. Savor an endless array of salty cured meats, fresh seafood, and deserts like crispy churros dipped in rich suizo (Spanish-style hot chocolate with a cool whipped cream ""bomb""). Cool off with a glass of horchata de chufa (tiger nut horchata), a refreshing summer favorite. Every meal is a celebration of local traditions and bold Mediterranean flavors.

Beyond history and gastronomy, you'll eat up world-class beaches, dance floors, and colorful city streets. Play volleyball or paddle ball on Barceloneta Beach, catch sunset views from Bunkers del Carmel, and enjoy street performers on busy plazas. Soak up the laid-back, sun-soaked vibe that makes Barcelona a favorite for student travelers from around the world.
