Overview
Up your game in London, the birthplace of modern soccer and home to more professional clubs than any other city in the world.

Behind every great athlete is a strong mental game. In London, where the modern rules of soccer were first established and some of the world’s most famous clubs inspire millions, you’ll discover how sports psychology helps athletes perform under pressure. Alongside fellow Global Navigators, you’ll build a Personal Performance Portfolio and develop the skills to elevate your own game.

Over three weeks, you’ll explore topics such as visualization, attentional control, and resilience, and learn practical strategies athletes use to overcome setbacks and achieve their goals. Through classroom discussions and hands-on activities, you’ll apply these concepts to real-life scenarios and discover how they extend far beyond the pitch. Alongside it all, track your own performance as you work to reach new goals.

Step inside the home of one of England’s most iconic soccer clubs with a behind-the-scenes tour of Emirates Stadium and the Arsenal Museum. Then experience another side of British sporting culture at Lord’s Cricket Ground, known as the “Home of Cricket.” Between the confidence you’ll build, the friendships you’ll make, and the lessons you’ll carry forward, your summer in London will prepare you to succeed in college and beyond.

The Destination

Welcome to London, where legendary stadiums, royal history, and global culture come together.

From local neighborhood clubs to England’s iconic Wembley Stadium, soccer is woven into everyday life in London. Home to 13 professional clubs—more than any other city in the world—the city comes alive on match days. Imagine thousands of passionate supporters flooding the streets in their team’s colors, filling stadiums, pubs, and neighborhoods with chants, songs, and nonstop excitement. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to the sport, there’s no better place to experience it than here.

Beyond soccer, London is one of the world’s great capital cities. Explore famous landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, and Westminster Abbey, then wander vibrant neighborhoods filled with street markets, theaters, cafés, and independent shops. London is also one of Europe’s greenest cities, with nearly half its area dedicated to parks, gardens, and open spaces. Be sure to try classic fish and chips, afternoon tea, and favorites from London’s global food scene—Indian curry, Chinatown dumplings, Brick Lane bagels, and Portuguese custard tarts.

Overnight Trip to Manchester

Travel to Manchester, England’s football capital, for an unforgettable overnight adventure exploring the home stadiums of Manchester United and Manchester City. Go behind the scenes with stadium tours that take you through the players’ tunnel, dressing rooms, and pitch-side areas while learning how each club has shaped the history of the modern game.

You’ll also visit the National Football Museum, home to the world’s largest public collection of soccer artifacts, with more than 40,000 objects celebrating the sport’s history and global impact. See one of the oldest surviving copies of the 1863 Laws of the Game, the world’s first international football jersey, the oldest surviving FA Cup trophy, and other priceless memorabilia that bring more than 160 years of soccer history to life.

Visit the Tower of London

Travel back nearly 1,000 years at the Tower of London, one of England’s most famous landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This imposing fortress has served as a royal palace, prison, treasury, mint, armory, and even a royal zoo! Walk through the ancient stone towers as you uncover stories of kings and queens, political intrigue, daring escapes, and famous prisoners like Anne Boleyn. Marvel at the dazzling Crown Jewels, still used in royal coronation ceremonies today. Don’t forget to look for the Tower’s famous ravens, whose legendary role is to protect the British Crown.

Just next door, cross the iconic Tower Bridge, a masterpiece of Victorian engineering completed in 1894. Stroll across its spectacular glass-floored walkway high above the River Thames, enjoy panoramic views of London’s skyline, and discover how the bridge’s enormous bascules still lift around 1,000 times each year to allow tall ships to pass through.
