Overview
Twirl through Buenos Aires’ rich dance scene as you explore foundational dance techniques, culminating in final choreography inspired by South America.

In Argentina, dance is more than a performance; it’s an expression of nostalgia, melancholy and love. As the birthplace of Tango, Buenos Aires is home to some of the most prestigious dance institutions in Latin America. With fellow Global Navigators, collaborate to craft an original dance piece that reflects lessons in and beyond the studio.

Train five to six hours daily in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance. Dive into workshops led by local instructors covering choreography and dance history. Immerse in traditional Argentine forms and explore how movement and culture intertwine.

Connect with local teens on visits to street markets and plazas that come alive with music and dance. On excursions, journey to a traditional estancia (ranch) to experience gaucho (cowboy) life and travel north to witness the beauty of Iguazú Falls. Your time in Buenos Aires will blend intensive dance training and cultural immersion set to the rhythm of Argentina’s artistic soul.

The Destination

Welcome to Buenos Aires, where every street corner pulses with rhythm and tradition.

The capital city of Argentina holds a deep connection to dance, especially the Tango, a dramatic and passionate art form born in the working-class neighborhoods of the late 19th century. The music, style and movement of Tango reflects Argentina’s diverse cultural influences from Indigenous, African and European groups. Theaters, cultural centers and milongas (dance halls) showcase how dance serves as both storytelling and social connection, rooted in Argentina’s rich national identity.

Some of the best live Tango shows can be found in San Telmo, the oldest neighborhood in Argentina. The Teatro Colón, recognized as one of the world’s top opera houses by National Geographic, highlights a deep cultural investment in performance arts. Local dishes like empanadas and dulce de leche-filled pasties fuel the city’s inhabitants. Famous landmarks like Recoleta Cemetery and the colorful streets of La Boca, home to the iconic Caminito, showcase Buenos Aires’ rich history. In every corner of the city, movement and passion intertwine, offering inspiration with every twirl.
