Overview
Bring cinematic stories to life as you explore the art of filmmaking in iconic London.

London, home to legendary directors such as Hitchcock and Nolan, is the perfect place to study filmmaking, with its thriving creative industry and instantly recognizable backdrops. You’ll join other Global Navigators to collaborate on a short film scene, from first draft to final cut.

In class and on location, you’ll dive into the building blocks of visual storytelling—scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, and editing—while getting insider tips from professionals working in the field. You’ll analyze films across genres, create storyboards to plan each shot, and practice production techniques using real cameras and editing software. By the end, your team will present a five-minute scene and share your director’s statement, explaining your creative choices and local inspiration.

Outside the classroom, you’ll soak up all that London has to offer, from catching a play at the National Theatre to cruising past Big Ben on the Thames. Spend a weekend exploring Oxford’s historic university quads and visit Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Take home unforgettable memories and a polished portfolio piece you can use to stand out when applying to film school or pursuing a creative career.

The Destination

Welcome to London—the world’s theatre capital and a filmmaker’s dream.

London is a city of storytellers. From Shakespeare’s first scripts to today’s groundbreaking filmmakers like Steve McQueen and Danny Boyle, this is where bold voices and unforgettable characters are born. The city’s creative legacy spans centuries and media, from the clever satire of Monty Python to the cinematic worlds of Harry Potter. With theatre, film, and culture woven into daily life, London is the perfect place to study the craft of storytelling on screen.

As a global city, London fuels creativity with its energy and diversity. One moment you’re walking past a centuries-old theatre, the next you’re scouting a film location in Shoreditch or watching a pop-up performance in the park. Grab lunch between takes—whether it’s sushi, falafel, or a classic plate of fish and chips—and recharge at a café where artists and writers have gathered for generations. From the British Film Institute to buzzing markets and riverside views, the city keeps your imagination moving.

You’ll film with friends, explore with purpose, and bring your creative vision to life. London is where stories begin—and yours is just getting started!
