First Days in Madrid
Madrid Session 2 Language and Culture is underway! We are finished with orientation, and the students are now beginning their language classes, cultural excursions, and "misiones ñ" where they apply language in context beyond the classroom. Minus a tad bit of jet-lag, everything is going rather smoothly, and the energy from this group is almost palpable as we walk through the streets of the Spanish capital.

After the first day of classes, we engaged in our first cultural excursion and took a tour of Madrid´s famous Plaza de Toros (Las ventas). Students were able to tour the bullfighting arena, learn about the history of bullfighting, the parts of a bullfight, and even tour the museum to see artifacts from famous matadors and their uniforms. Some even were able to participate in a virtual bullfight while other students watched and cheered them on!

There are certainly many more moments to come! Stay tuned for more updates!
Much love, Zach
