The Destination
Seville, the fourth largest city in Spain, is the capital city of Andalusia. Known for its hot summers, Gothic and Renaissance architecture, fabulous food and flamenco rhythms, it never fails toamaze!
Integrate into the vibrant epicenter of culture, in Spain’s beautiful Andalusian region. Seville is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is rich in cultural history. Surprisingly, it manages to preserve its past while offering all the conveniences of a modern commercial city. Its Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and where the remains of Christopher Columbus rest today, shares prominence with the most modern cultural buildings built in recent times. Seville has also been the scene of films and famous series as Game of Thrones, Star Wars, or the Kingdom of Heaven. It is also known for being easy to navigate. You can stroll down cobblestone alleys, poke your head into local shops, and enjoy a slow, laid-back pace during your time here. Seville is known for being livable and fun without feeling overwhelming.CIEE wants all our students to feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed while studying abroad. Local CIEE staff have provided details about conditions and cultural attitudes that students with specific identities might encounter in Seville.
