Overview
Taste the bold, savory flavors of Taiwanese cuisine as you craft your own menu inspired by Taipei.

In Taipei, one of Asia’s most exciting culinary capitals, you’ll dive into the bold and flavorful world of Taiwanese cooking. Prepare iconic dishes like beef noodle soup, xiao long bao (soup dumplings), and mango shaved ice while discovering the stories and traditions behind every recipe. From sizzling night market snacks to beloved home-cooked classics, explore how Taiwan’s rich food culture blends time-honored flavors with modern twists.

Daily cooking classes will build your skills and creativity. Learn insider techniques from professional chefs, team up with friends for culinary challenges, and enjoy the fun of cooking and eating together. By the end of the program, you’ll design and present your own menu inspired by everything you’ve learned.

Beyond the kitchen, immerse yourself in Taipei’s young, urban energy. Hunt for unique ingredients at traditional markets, explore Buddhist and Taoist temples, and enjoy tea tasting. You’ll also tour outside the city to places like Jiufen, a mountaintop village steeped in history, and Tainan, Taiwan’s first and oldest city.

The Destination

Welcome to Taipei, where street eats and sweet treats fill day and night food markets!

Located at the northern tip of Taiwan, Taipei is a vibrant capital where modern energy meets deep tradition. Founded in the early 1700s by Chinese settlers, the city now blends futuristic architecture with gorgeous green spaces like the Taipei Botanical Garden.

In Taipei, you’ll feel like a local teen, meeting friends in cozy cafés, snapping photos by colorful murals, and enjoying a city that invites you in. Neighborhoods pulse with food, music, and youth culture from morning to night. Street food like gua bao, oyster omelets, and pepper buns bursts with flavor and bubble tea waffles and mango shaved ice add a sweet touch. Underground malls offer trendsetting fashion, quirky shops, and playful arcades. Photo sticker booths are still a teen favorite!

Located along the Tamsui River and just 15 miles from the Pacific, Taipei is surrounded by mountains and beaches. Beyond the city lights, Dadaocheng’s colonial streets and incense-filled temples offer a peaceful atmosphere. Hike Elephant Mountain for sweeping views of Taipei 101, the city’s famous skyscraper!
