The Destination
Welcome to Rabat, a coastal capital where centuries of artistry and tradition come together.
One of Morocco’s four imperial cities, Rabat has long been a center of scholarship, craftsmanship, and royal history, making it an inspiring place to study art. The city is known for living craft traditions woven into everyday life, from intricate mosaics and carved cedar doors to horseshoe arches, patterned courtyards, and hand-painted tilework that reward a close eye. Explore landmarks like Hassan Tower and the blue-and-white Kasbah of the Udayas, where monumental architecture and daily life feel beautifully intertwined.
Taste Moroccan culture through flaky msemen flatbread, fragrant tagine, and sweet mint tea poured high into small glasses. Wander spice-filled souks, pause in the orange-blossom paths of the Andalusian Gardens, and watch the Atlantic shimmer beyond old stone walls. From the rhythm of the medina to the call to prayer echoing over rooftops, Rabat invites you and new friends to experience a culture alive with color, craft, and discovery.

Atlas Mountains & Marrakech
Founded nearly 1,000 years ago, Marrakech was once a powerful imperial capital and a major crossroads for traders, scholars, and travelers moving between Africa, Europe, and the Arab world. Its famous red walls, grand palaces, and madrasas (historic centers of learning) still reflect that rich history today.
From Marrakech, journey into the dramatic Atlas Mountains, home to Amazigh communities, Morocco’s indigenous people, whose language and traditions have shaped the country for centuries. Learn about Tamazight culture through village life, music, weaving traditions, and the hospitality the region is known for. Between bustling markets and highland adventures, this overnight reveals Morocco’s incredible diversity.
Asilah Day Trip
Set along Morocco’s northern Atlantic coast, Asilah is a small fortified seaside town where centuries of history meet a vibrant contemporary art scene. Ancient Phoenician traders (seafaring merchants of the Mediterranean) once passed through here, Portuguese rulers later built honey-colored stone ramparts, and the preserved old quarter remains a lived-in historic center, not a museum piece. Since Asilah’s renowned arts festival began in 1978, artists from Morocco, Africa, Europe, and beyond have returned each summer to create magnificent street art, repainting the city walls with new murals and transforming the town into a changing open-air gallery.
Explore mural-lined lanes, watch Atlantic waves crash below the fort walls, and wander past cobalt doors, hidden courtyards, and seaside cafés. Browse galleries with your fellow Global Navigators, tasting fresh-grilled seafood, and soaking up a town of roughly 30,000 people where art spills into public spaces.
