Overview
Capture street life, coastal energy, and natural beauty in one of the most photogenic cities in the world: Sydney.

Spend your summer chasing light, color, and stories through the lens, alongside new friends who are just as obsessed with photography as you are. Whether you're using a DSLR or your phone, you’ll build your digital photography skills while exploring Australia’s most iconic city.

Sydney’s diverse landscapes and ever-shifting weather are a photographer's dream: constantly changing light conditions against awe-inspiring natural views. Through hands-on workshops and interactive sessions, you’ll develop essential skills in composition, lighting, and editing. You’ll also explore the ethics of photography and work with community members to capture and tell stories that matter. Your work will culminate in a final gallery show, where you’ll present a selection of your strongest images and an artist’s statement that brings your creative voice to life.

Your summer includes two excursions beyond the city. In the Blue Mountains, hike eucalyptus forests, spot koalas, and photograph incredible bushland. In Canberra, cruise Lake Burley Griffin, explore the National Portrait Gallery, and devour the country’s best foodie scene. You’ll head home with a meaningful portfolio, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of your creative style.

The Destination

Welcome to Sydney—sunny skies, salty air, and days that feel like a highlight reel.

For photographers, Sydney is a dream. From sunrise over the harbor to golden-hour light dancing through city streets, every part of this city plays with contrast, texture, and mood. You’ll find visual inspiration in its dramatic architecture, colorful markets, glowing street signs, and waves crashing against the cliffs. Walk through neighborhoods where bold street art meets heritage buildings, and explore a coastline where the ocean meets sandstone in picture-perfect layers.

This is a city that lives outside. Surf Bondi Beach, photograph street performers in Newtown, or wander waterfront trails with your camera in hand. Sydney’s skies shift fast—cloud cover, sun bursts, reflections, color. Even the shadows here move in interesting ways. It’s a place that challenges you to chase the light, frame the moment, and see the world with fresh eyes.

Beyond the city, New South Wales opens up into rainforests, rock pools, and rolling hills. Hike the Blue Mountains, explore coastal Newcastle, and capture the peaceful beauty of Bowral’s countryside. Whether you’re into portraits, landscapes, or candid shots of real life in motion, Sydney gives you the backdrop, the buzz, and the best summer ever.
