A "Taste" of Palma
In addition to their Spanish immersion classes, program participants also engage in cultural activities during the week. For example, students were able to enjoy some traditional Mallorcan dessert called "ensaimada" and ice cream from Can Joan de s’Aigo. The charming "heladería" has preserved its unique character and recipes since the beginning of the 1700s.

Moreover, participants also took a cooking class where they learned to prepare traditional Spanish dishes. The class was structured as a competition with students working in groups to create dishes from scratch under the guidance of a local chef (thank you, Juan!). After all was said and done, participants and program leaders sat down to enjoy the fruits of their labors in a sit down lunch.

This is just a taste of the exciting program itinerary these students are in for! Stay tuned for more updates as CIEE Palma unfolds!
