From the moment the students arrived, we have hit the ground running with fun activities, Spanish classes, and practicing our Spanish in real-life situations.  Last week, the students had their first taste of the energy and excitement in the center of Madrid! We walked around Sol, visited Plaza Mayor, and even had the chance to huddle around the very center point of Spain!

Every morning, the students have three hours of class where they learn Spanish that they later put to the test out in the street with Spaniards.  We go to supermarkets, practice ordering drinks and food in restaurants, and we even practice speaking to people in the neighborhood.

In the afternoon, there have been doing so many fun activities!  From our visit to the Plaza de Toros, to the our fun trip in Segovia where we kayaked down the river and then visited the beautiful city of Segovia.  This week, we have a number of awesome rotating activities, including cooking, dancing, music, ceramics, and time in Retiro park. Group E started in Retiro where we watched people feed the turtles, shared some food, and did  fun writing activity.

The time is moving quickly, but the days are FULL!  The students are learning and growing each and every day, and their Spanish is evolving as they put their new skills to the test!  Hasta luego!
