We arrived!
After a long day of travel, we made it! I flew with 11 of the 13 students from JFK (New York) to Paris to Casablanca, and the other two students arrived independently a few hours later. At the Casa airport we were met by program staff and brought to the American Language Center (ALC) in Mohammedia, which will be our home base for the next few weeks. The ALC is centrally located in the heart of Mohammedia, within walking distance to markets, parks, and cafes.
Though understandably tired and a little nervous, all of the students were excited and eager to arrive and meet their host families, who came to pick them up at the ALC. Tonight they will share their first meal together and then get some much needed sleep.
Tomorrow we will reconvene in the morning for a day of orientation. We can’t wait to explore this small city and get to know each other through fun icebreakers and activities... more photos and stories to come soon!
