Sábado by the Sea
Cádiz is a beautiful port city with a strong Andalusian feel and long history.
We started our day with a tour of the oldest part of the city which was first inhabited by the phoenicians over 3,000 years ago.
Our first stop was the Tavira Tower.
The rooftop offered a great few of the surroundings and we were able to explore the city from above with the use of the “camara obscura” or “dark camera,” a device that works like a camera to project a panoramic view of the city.
A few other notable stops on the tour were the Cathedral and the Roman Theater.
After the tour was over it was time to hit the sand. Students enjoyed picnics packed by their host families and a few hours on the gorgeous Playa de Victoria.
