Home Sweet Home
One of the best aspects of this CIEE adventure is the opportunity to live with a Sevillana host family, in order to better understand and connect with daily Spanish life. Instead of parallel quadrants, the center of Sevilla is said to be a laborinth of narrow winding streets and plazas. The buildings in the photo are representative of many homes near the city center. Many families own or rent a "piso", a floor or flat of a building. This is the place that I will call home for the next 4 weeks, on la Calle Palacios Malever. In the mid morning and evening, the streets are filled with life. Yesterday, I woke from a siesta to the sound of a balladeer singing "gitano" (gypsy) ballads through the streets. Absolutely amazing! Photo s were taken early in the morning as I left to meet my CIEE team.
