First Day of School at Rossmoyne Senior High
Although we’ve been learning in class and on-the-go for nearly two weeks, today was the first full day the students got to spend with locals kids in their local classrooms. They had so much to say about their day, I thought it would be best to let them do the talking!
Read on for what our HSSA kids had to say, in their own words:
What did you do today?
“We went to Rossmoyne Senior High school to work with students our own age in biology and conservation [classes].” ~Charlie and Hailey
“We had to put cups in the dirt and tomorrow we will see what got caught in the traps overnight.” ~Carly
What was different from your home or school?
“There were some language barriers.” ~Stefanie
“There were a lot of pronunciation differences.” ~Peter

“Yeah, twinkies were really popular. One girl asked me a lot about twinkies.” ~Frances
“When we were on break, we all sat together and it was like we weren’t going to talk at first, and then the conversation just kind of happened naturally. We talked about what we like and what’s popular here and [back home].” ~Leslie
What was the most interesting or weirdest question an Australian student asked you?
"Do I see famous people when I walk around my town?" ~Katie
“They were really hyped about Chick-Fil-A [and] they asked me if McDonald's was the same.” ~Chris
