El Real Alcázar de Sevilla
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of touring the famous Real Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos'. We actually sat In the same halls where Cristobal Colón signed the voyage contracts with the Reina Católica, Isabella, and was later blessed before his voyages. Our CIEE tour Guide, Julia, gave us a fantastically thorough explanation of the different periods and influences of construction, including Roman, Arab, Gothic, and later Renaissance renovations. There's never enough time to see everything, and the details are so ornate that we will all have to return on our day off.
