Arrival Day and Introduction to Homestay Families
Embarking on an extraordinary adventure of leadership and service, our Global Navigator students arrived in Morocco on June 18th, accompanied by their program leader and flight chaperone, Ashlyn. The warm reception began as soon as they stepped off the plane, with Yahya, our program coordinator. The students made their way to the American Language Center of Mohammedia, their program’s main hub and home base.
At the American Language Center, Kamera, the program coordinator, and Rihane, their program leader, greeted the students with traditional Moroccan cookies accompanied by refreshing mint tea. The atmosphere was filled with excitement. To ensure their comfort and address any immediate concerns, each student was offered a one-on-one check-in, affirming that everything was in order and fostering a supportive environment from the very beginning.
While the students settled in, our dedicated host families were provided with essential information and reminded of important details regarding the homestay integration activity program. This briefing was a reminder of the significance of their role in fostering cultural exchange and creating a meaningful experience for both the students and their host families.
With introductions complete, the moment arrived to meet their host families. The students embarked then, on this new chapter, joining their host families for a delightful lunch.
After an eventful day of travel, airports, and meeting new people, the students, accompanied by their host families, set off for a well-deserved evening of rest.
The journey has only just begun for our Global Navigators as they immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Moroccan culture, fueled by their enthusiasm for leadership and service. Through meaningful interactions with their host families and engaging program activities, these young leaders will grow, discover their potential, and make lasting memories that will shape their futures. Stay tuned for more updates as we witness the incredible personal and collective growth of our exceptional youth.
