"What does the ocean mean to you?"
On day three of our trip in Lisbon students spent time learning more time about the local marine ecosystem! Students were also challenged to practice some functional Portuguese at the beach. After a fun day students were asked the question, "What does the ocean mean to you?". Here are some tidbits of our favorite responses: "To me, the ocean is a safe place. It is a place I go with my friends to be happy and share laughs, but also a place I know can cheer me up when I am sad," . Another student said, " The ocean makes me feel like anything is possible,". And finally, "The ocean is a major resource for me and humans. It provides food, habitats, ecosystem services, and tourism. It is and essential part of life for all,".
