Welcome to Rabat!
Sunday we welcomed session two Language and Culture HSSA students! After settling in with their host families Sunday we jumped right into orientation Monday morning. During orientation everyone had an opportunity to get to know each other and some students even sang for the group! When everyone's host moms came to pick them up after a long first day of orientation an impromptu music session broke out as the host mom's played drums and a frying pan! The students couldn't help but jump in and dance along.
Tuesday included many more firsts for our HSSA students. Their first Darija (Moroccan Arabic) lesson and their first community conversation session! After learning how to introduce themselves and how to ask someone's name, where they are from, and what they do, the students headed out into the community with their program leaders to talk to local community members.
Day two and students are already holding conversations. We are so proud and can't wait to see how far everyone advances in the next four weeks!
