This weekend we left Barcelona Friday afternoon and headed to the Costa Brava. We visited Roman ruins where students stepped back in time to learn about Spain’s vast history and the Roman influence on the design of cities and markets. We then proceeded to Roses for a fun-filled weekend of kayaking, swimming, and coastal exploration. We wrapped up the weekend with a visit to Figueres, home to the Dali museum, where students had an in-depth look into the life of the prolific Spanish artist, Salvador Dalí. We ended the weekend with a stop at the Castell de San Ferran, a fortress used to protect the northeast border of Spain, spanning the time from the 16th century through World War II.
