Versailles, our first weekend excursion!
Written by Program Leader, Tracy Gallo...Saturday, July 17, 2021, students took a regional train from Paris to Versailles to spend the day visiting the castle and gardens of the French kings and queens. Students were greeted by 3 lively tour guides who took them through the castle explaining the rich history of the rooms and the kings/queens who stayed there. The tours were conducted in French and modified for the students language levels as needed. After an hour tour inside the castle with lots of selfies in the Hall of Mirrors and in front of the palace, students entered the gorgeous gardens blooming with seasonal flowers and flowing fountains. Here, they were provided a picnic lunch to enjoy with their friends and free time to explore the immense gardens. At 3pm we were treated with classical music as the fountains came on flowing with the music. What a perfect first excursion for these global navigators! Vive la France!
