Un week-end in Normandy!
This past weekend, our group was able to leave the hustle and bustle of Paris to visit some destinations in the Normandy region. It was a great opportunity to leave the noise and crowds of Paris for some fresh air and space to run around.
We returned to Paris on Sunday, but before we arrived we were delighted to be able to visit an organic farm the “Lieu Roussel” in the countryside of Normandy. For me personally, it was a little piece of “chez moi”, as I grew up on a farm in Iowa. Our students were delighted to meet the animals that lived on the farm. The students quickly made friends with the donkeys, pigs, turkeys, rabbits, and many other animals.
Eric, the farmer and our guide for the day, took us through the farm and explained how he took care of the animals and created the products. At Lieu Roussel, guests can buy local honey, apple cider, jam, homemade paté, and many other products. Our students enjoyed purchasing items and learning about the life on a farm.
